I have a 2002 Honda Civic Si, and needed a new battery. I checked with Honda, but they are just too expensive. Can anyone recommend a brand, type, etc of battery that I should go with, and possibly where to buy it from? Thanks

The brand is Interstate. They are very reliable batteries, and will last 7 years on average.
They are comparable with Sears Diehard but slightly less expensive.

Napa batteries are the only brand I sell at my shops. They just got consumers reports #1 battery. They have a couple of different levels depending on what kind of warranty you want. The 60 series and the 75 series and the 84 series. The 60 has a 1 year free replacement and prorated after that one for 60 months the 75 has a 18 month free and 75 month prorate and the 84 series has a 2 year free replacement and 84 month prorated warranty. The main thing to remember is that all battery warranties are prorated after the initial 1-2 years. With Napa it cost 91cents for each month you have it. So a 3 year old battery if it died would cost you about $32 for a brand new one. Also the pro ration does not start over with the new one the date will be punched out on the new one for the original purchase date. They have a nationwide warranty. So any where in the US if you see a Napa sign you can get it warrantied there.

GM Does or did make a starter warmth guard. you're using an alternator that's no longer rated at adequate amperage to run all your new electric toys and fee the battery properly adequate. i might totally fee the battery @ 2 amps and then have it load-examined to work out what the reserve amperage means is. Amps spin starter automobiles no longer volts. in case you have a volt meter, touch the battery terminals with the volt meter set @ 20 volts. Have somebody else initiate the motor vehicle. Of the voltage drops returned to 0, between the cells of the battery is shorted out. Have a relied on inner maximum mechanic do a *starter amp draw attempt. I owned a stick sixty 5 Chevelle with the 350 hp. 327 and not in any respect had starter or alternator issues.

For sure, and entry level spiral Optima red or yellow top battery is your best bet, they're a sealed battery so you never have to worry about "topping it up" and if you have a "slammin" car stereo and you don't have a capacitor for it, the Optima may help to accommodate for any short comings.

This battery can be bought at Walmart of all places?! It is quite a high end battery

I just bought a Titanium for about 50 bucks after I took my old battery in. I got it at Advanced Auto Parts. I don't know if there is one by you. It has like 730 cranking amps.

you can get an Optima battery...either the yellow or the red top ones. it should be the same size as the factory battery but have more CCAs if i'm not mistaken. you could also get a Duralast battery...looks like a Optima red top one...just peel off the Duralast sticker

If you can change it out yourself, or have a friend do it, you can get batteries from any auto parts store. They also will change it for you, in most cases. Price is a matter of warranty mostly...
