It would greatly increase road safety. It is a shame, though, for the RESPONSIBLE, younger drivers.
But something worth having is worth waiting for.

I'm going to be driving in a few months I just feel like at 16 (soon to be) that driving is big and im not ready for it, there's so much pressure, i think 18 would be a good age because your more mature.

Well, David R, it's because young men (not ladies) very often drive too fast and too dangerously. They think that older men are gits who get in the way, but gits can stop if someone steps into the road, while young men do not believe that people EVER step out into the road.

The age should be 21.

In my opinion they should raise it to 18 and after the initial road pass folks should not be allowed on the motorway until 2 years road experience and pass a motorway test. I'm sick of scraping inexperienced and stupid drivers up off the roads. IT NEEDS SORTING xxx

We shouldn't, it's just those idiots in Parliament thinking that raising the minimum age for driving will decrease traffic and congestion, and that it will prevent younger irresponsible drivers from getting onto the road

We shouldn't. It's not the young ones I worry about, it's all the old fogeys who REALLY shouldn't be allowed on the roads - they're a danger to society, half of them can't see, let alone drive. Compulsary re-test at 60 I reckon.

I think that it should be 21 myself and the maximum age should be 70. This way there would be fewer cars and dangerous drivers on the road.

It would be 21 if I had a say....anything to remove the chavs from the roads would be a benefit

I think it should be 21 - too many young fools on the road (however that would not work - too many people in rural areas would be affected as they have poor transport links.)
