Well doing a detailed business plan would help u answer all your questions. This plan should be based on certain assumptions plus market data. You will need to see what assets you need to start a basic operation and what depts are necessary to support your operations. Based on your calculations of the above you should add to that 3-6 months of your overheads ( salaries, utilities...) you will end up with a figure which should come partly from you and partly from your bank.

Most of the money will be needed by your legal department, since "Scotch Tape" is a trademark and I'm sure you will be the subject of a lawsuit for infringement.

After that publicity, though, you will not need much marketing funds, so I would put some of it towards finding a different product and recycling all the "Scotch Tape" paper, plastic and other consumables.
