If you are asking at what age: babies only need to be bathed every couple days and only wiped down when they are newborns until they are about two months old.
As the baby gets older, you can use bathtime as a way to quiet them and calm them before bed. Make it part of the baby's routine.
I always give my son a bath and then a massage before bed. He's been sleeping through the night fully since 9 months. Good luck.

I've heard its best to wait a week after the baby is born for the first bath. I would recommend not actually bathing the child but using cotton balls soaked in warm water to clean the baby. Use a new cotton ball per body part, that way if the baby has an infection in her left eye it won't spread to the right. Then when the baby is about 2 weeks old give her a real bath.

I give my twins a bath right before bed. Bath, bottle, bed routine works well for us. At first the bath wore them out for bed (because they didnt like it and cried the whole time). Now that they like thier baths it helps relax them. they go to sleep so much easier.

My wife and I stick with 7-8pm, this lines up nice with bed time. I suggest you bathe them in some of that calming lavender bath by J&J. For some reason the warm water and solution makes babies tired.

I read in a parenting book that you should do it before bed as part of a routine. The warm water helps relaxe and soothe the baby making it easier to put the baby down for the night. Good luck and have fun.

Do it as part of the bedtime route.. makes it easier to establish good sleeping habits.. however, years ago they gave them during the day b/c it was warmer. They also make a calming bath wash and lotion, my little girl loves the lotion.

Also, wait til the baby's cord falls off, before the first bath-- wipe them down if need be, if the cord hasn't fallen off yet.

Depends on the baby. My son would settle down after a bath. It was really relaxing for him and he slept well after it. However, my cousin's would be wide awake and ready to play - the bath stimulated her. The only way to know about your baby is to try it either time and see how she reacts.

A lot of it depends on your work schedule. If you are always at home give her a bath right before bed at night.

One word of advise. There is usually no need to bathe a baby everyday. They don't get that dirty and they don't have body odor. I always bathed my kids when the moment moved me every 2 days.
