A popular theme for conservative republicans is that Hillary wasn't "women" enough to keep Bill satisfied. So does that mean we should blame the victim ? Also, what's the point of marriage if the responsibility for your partner's fidelity is on you. Why make THEM take the marriage vows ? Certainly, conservative republicans are not against marriage. So why blame Hillary ?

For you people who haven't seen an example of it, I've provided the above link.

I've never heard of conservative republicans claiming that. If you have some quotes to back you up, I'd like to see them.

No, she is not to blame for her husband's behavior. Each person is responsible for their own choices and mistakes. I think any sensible person, conservative or liberal, can agree with that.

*EDIT* Wow, no wonder our country is such a mess. The questioner has no proof for his claims, and some of you take it as fact. There's so much political bigotry out there (on both sides!) it's insane. People, think for yourselves. This is one of the reasons I don't affiliate myself with either party.

**For the questioner: When you make a claim like "a popular theme for conservative republicans is..." you need a great deal more than one quote from one random faceless person on yahoo answers to demonstrate that this person's thoughts are representative of an entire group of people.

I have never heard anyone say that Hillary "wasn't woman enough to keep Bill satisfied". I am not interested enough in Hillary to visit another website, thanks. However, many marriages weather an affair and can stay together and work out the issues, and go on to have a happy marriage. My problem with Hillary is that her husband wasn't a guy who had "an affair", he was and probably still is a sexual predator. I think Hillary tolerated his behavior because she had an agenda and needed him to achieve her goals. Like I said in the beginning I have little interest in either of them, I just don't think they should be held up as role models. Thanks

Hillary shouldn't be blamed. Some men are born cheaters. A few of my friends are like this.

Hillary is in a tough spot, because if she divorces him then she looks bad. Especially from hard core religous people that believe divorce is a sin, but if she stands by her man she looks like she is loves him dearly and wants to help him and rekindle their love. I believe if she never planned on running for office then she would have divorced him, but since she is running for office it would have hurt her more if she would have left. It's hard enough to get a woman in the office, let alone a single one that had a divorce.

You can't control people and (even) Hillary can't control Bill. End of story. Bill makes choices and it doesn't matter how much a of a "woman" you are, if your man is a cheater, he's a cheater. One thing a woman can't give her man is the thrill of the hunt and the taboo of cheating. If that's what he likes, your screwed (figuratively because your not getting screwed literally are you)? Why blame the victim? Because some people actually believe that the woman isn't doing her job if the man is cheating. It's archaic and naive and ignorant and plain stupid and yet some people really believe that.

Exactly.....that kind of thinking comes from totally ignorant and brainwashed individuals...not to mention perhaps a little scared! It's obvious the Country as a whole is tired of Republican Rule... 2008 will most certainly see a Democratic Majority....be it Hillary or another!

Hillary should not be blamed for Bill's cheating. We are all responsible for our own actions.

No point blaming Hillary. Yes, she could have asked for a divorce. would you have preferred a divorce proceedings going on in the white house. i think she is a very smart and considerate person.

Haven't heard that before. I know that I wouldn't get blamed for my husbands adultery, but if he went on national tv and bubbled on about how he didn't know what he was doing and asked for definitions and was generally acting like an idiot about the affair, I would have left him. That's what she should be blamed for, letting him make a fool out of her and stick around smiling about it. Yikes! I guess it takes all types.

Republicans like to blame the victim because they have so many.

Its not Hillary's fault, if Monica came up to me and wanted to blow me, well, I guess I would just have to comply. Becasue what if Bill would have said no, and then Monica tries to charge him with sexual harrassment???? So might as well let Monica play the flute????
