I think it is a very cool name, my brothers name is Jett and he has always had people tell him how cool it is (he's 27 now)
Our whole family has had complements on our names, Sunny, Summer Beck and Jett! I don't see why people are so opposed to it- it's probly cuz their names are John, George, Jeff, Ken... blah!
There are more cool names I like at http://www.yourchildrennaturally.com look at the "favorite names" article
p.s. My brother did want to be a stunt man, now he is a home builder

I would see Jett as a girls name, but not a boys name.

Isn't John Travolta's son named Jett? Anyways, I've heard it before.

I like it. It's unique but not "out there." Cute, but it's also a name that can fit a grown man. There will always be naysayers; go with your gut.
If you're concerned, maybe name him Jarrett and use Jett as a nickname?

I think it's darling, but I don't know how well it will transition to adulthood. I've thought about using it myself, but I'm hesitant and worry it's too "out there" for my comfort. It is gaining popularity, though, and was ranked 508th most popular name in 2005 according to the Baby Name Wizard's Name Voyager, which tracks the popularity of names over the past 125 years.

yes it's unique, however in the long run i don't think it is "professional" and he might get brushed off for the sake of his name so he'll probably have to work 10 times harder than a Brett or Luke.
I would have Jett as his middle name if you love it so.

Are you kidding? Why don't you put that name on a jet and fly it on outta here. That's ridiculous. This child has to live with that name. What if he wants to be some kind of an executive? Are you crazy? Think rationally. People want to be normal. Not outcasts. I can just see it. If he goes thru school and annoys somebody they will tell him to sprout wings and fly away. How insane is that? You are setting your child up for ridicule. Why don't ya just call him Sue? Worked for Johny Cash. this is nuts.

Don't really care for it. Seems like it is a nickname and something is missing. Jarrett seems better and you could use Jett for a nickname!
