I've not heard of this Publishers Clearing House gig. It may be a vanity or subsidy situation where you pay to get published. Another example is iUniverse.

The best place to get information about publishers is Writers Market. This covers all the major print publishers and the mid-sized print publishers. You can also pick up publishers names by browsing through the fantasy books at www.fictionwise.com.

There are a lot of epublishers out there who also bring out books in POD format. Before submitting to them, make sure their books are available on Amazon and Fictionwise. If they aren't, they aren't professional enough to bother with.
