Happy i have a job!
Id rather be working and getting paid than sitting about all day watching Jeremy Kyle and claiming benefits.

I feel good; I feel blessed.
My part time job is mornings working insurance at a doctor's office. Worked there 5 yrs this June. My boss is a wonderful lady! It's a 20 minute drive down the tollway, and I mostly work there now for her, since she's my friend; the salary barely pays for the tolls & gas at this point in time.
My full time job starts in the afternoon to late evening at a community college. Worked here 2 yrs in April. My boss is a wonderful lady! It's a 5 minute drive, close to all the shops I need and it's closeness is helpful if my disabled hubby quickly needs my assistance. My co-worker ladies are all great, and the instructors are pleasant and comfortable to be around and do things for. I have great insurance and retirement (once vested).
Both jobs have been gifts from God, I truly feel, because they were the perfect fits during these tougher days I've gone through. Prior jobs were very stressful, paid great, unstable as far as longevity [nearly every company either went out of business, moved, merged, or was sold]. The drives were long and congested; lots of inside agressive politics. I just focused on doing my nose-to-the-grindstone type accounting jobs. Now I do secretarial & insurance and I mix more with people which is a really nice change. I don't earn the big bucks, and my debts are still crushing, but having a good "fit" for a job does make a difference!
I'm very happy where I am at; I hope both companies keep me on board till the day I retire.

Hey, I am living in Johannesburg and need 45 minutes for a 12km trip every morning with a great portion of road rage and lovely hooting taxis bumper to bumper. Our traffic lights here do not come with a system so most likely always red- do I have to say more? What makes it worthwile is my favorite coffeeshop that has already a hot and strong cappuchino ready. Yummy! (Looking forward to a future South Africa with a working public transport system and bicycles...)

It depends wether I have to walk or not as I start work at 5.30AM, sometimes my boyfriend gets up and takes me there so it's OK and I feel fine.
Other times like this morning I had to walk in the rain for 20 minutes and I felt awful, but like most things in life you have to take the rough with the smooth.

I don't feel anything, which I think is worse because it means that my long drive to work has just become routine and I hate routine behaviour and mindless repetition.

I am a University Professor of Literature. I love my job, but cannot tolerate my 'colleagues'. Not one of them is 'real'.
