I see tourism submarine with acrilic windows, why military can not use as Sea View nuclear submarine or to patrol submarine water against drug traffic. Police has seizeid submarines with drugs, why can not have a Cost Guard Submarine?

Because military subs go down below 1,000 feet. At that depth the presure is too much for a large window. Think about it, in a battle with a nice great big target......one shot, and pop. One dead crew.

Jax,

That's not true, windows can be made to withstand the pressure. Look at the submerged research vessels, they're all window. Both DSRV's have windows. The reason US nuclear submarines don't have windows is because there isn't a need for them. Submarines don't need to "see" where they're going, they have charts to navigate by and SONAR to act as it's eyes and ears. The US Navy's nuclear submarine fleet is more interested in what's on the surface than what's on the bottom. Another reason our "boats" don't have windows is because they're not practicle. In the open ocean, you can't see very far so a window would be pretty much worthless in a submarine.

Submarines have two hulls, the outer hull and the inner pressure hull. The pressure hull must be built to withstand great pressures at depth. I suppose that the powers that be have not broached the idea of a Coast Guard Submariner Service.

There is no need for windows. While submerged a submarine's "ears" actually serve as it "eyes". They use sonar to listen for contacts. While at periscope depth, where the entire ship is just a few feet below the surface, we can just pop one or both periscopes up and look around all we want. Windows would never be able stand the pressure at the depths submarines go.
