Sometimes, to me at least, it seems like I've got good intentions and good plans but for some reason things don't seem to work out and I just feel like giving up. It just feels like I've fallen to my knees and it's hard to stand back up. Does this happen to you? (I'm sure it does.) What do you do to get back on your feet?

I felt that way after my divorce ... going from having a family, a house, furniture, toys ... to me & my daughter living with my grandparents - no possessions, no job, no car ... nothing ... I felt like I just took 20 steps backwards in life - I got pretty upset the first few months but after sitting there in my pj's one day - around 2pm thinking to myself - what the hell am I doing - I look like crap, I feel like crap and I think my life is crap ... I felt stupid and out of control ... !

I sat down and really thought to myself ... the only way to get out of this slum is to change ... change my attitude, change the way I was thinking ... pretty much grow up and do what I had to do to make sure we were happy again ... in no time I had a job, a sitter, an apt. lined up for us to live in ( after saving my @ss off ) picked myself up and said if I can't make myself happy how are other people going to change me ... you have to keep your head up and really believe in yourself that you can do what it takes to make your life better .... it's about living & learning ... I guess I look back and think to myself it made me a stronger person ... good luck with whatever is setting you back right now ... just remember - you control your emotions ... if you want to be happy - smile think to yourself why you feel upset and change it ... it's that simple - not always that easy to do though ... !

You just keep moving is all. Like my dad used to say, "half of life is just showing up". Eventually things have to get better.
