You hit the nail on the head. They either stopped thinking, or they never learned how to think in the first place, thanks to our public school system and parents who are not actively involved in thier child's education.

Limbaugh validates the thoughts and beliefs of his listeners who otherwise would not have a venue that echos what the think. Jackson has convinced a certain segment of the black population that they are victims of injustice forced upon them by some mythical bogyman usually a white male but more often one who is Conservative regardless of race. Jackson has parleyed this into an empire that is financed by shaking down large corporations through the tactic of phony moral outrage over manufactured instances of racism. The difference between these two is in how they view America. Limbaugh sees this country as being the best hope for the future, with unlimited opportunity and a bright future, just as his audience does. Jackson sees America as flawed and in need of a remake. Jackson seeks equality of outcome enforced at the point of a gun, which is held by government at the expense of personal liberties. While Limbaugh causes no harm to the public in general, Jackson's views if taken to their conclusion would spread misery where non exists today.

You can have the highest IQ in the world and you would still need to hear the opinions of others in order to form your own. There is one important difference between these two men. Rush succeeds in the marketplace. Jesse is propped up by the press as THE spokesmen for all Black Americans.

Aahhh, Rush Limbaugh, my hero. No we haven't forgotten how to think, we just don't have access to the public like Rush has. He speaks for a large majority of Americans (including me). However, I don't care for Jessie Jackson and the two of them have nothing in common.

I listen to Rush and the man is quite intelligent. You can't compare Jesse Jackson to Rush..,no contest there and yes I can think for myself, thats why this ex-democrat has changed parties. The only thing the Democrats can do is slam the President, slam his administration, slam our soldiers and their cause,so I slammed my vote against the democratic party.

People haven't forgotten how to think - they just don't see the point when they can have someone think for them. It is a trend in our society as a whole. Why do something when you can have your neighbor or the government take care of it for you? We our giving our lives to the government because we are too apathetic to take responsibility and get off our lazy asses.

I don't know. I feel the same way about John Stewart. I love him and think he's hillarious, but it's a comedy program. It's funny how people do take him seriously, even Republicans. He's said over and over "it's a comedy show."

No, they haven't forgotten, but people have gotten so lazy and dumbed down, they believe what's told to them instead of researching and drawing their own conclusions.
