i try and play bass, i have had acrylic nails done 2 different times, they dont really hurt to put on but when they do put them on they file down the serface of your nail so they are really thin, when you try and get them off you have to soak them in acitone and then you have to try and pry them off once you actually manage to get them off your nails are super thin and usually hurt, also they dont make good guitar picks....

You are not gonna be able to play the guitar...well not easily anyway. If they are done right they can look really good, but they ruin your real nails. Your real nails will get very weak underneath and take a long time to heal once the fakes are removed. If you have nice nails naturally...I wouldn't bother. I prefer my natural nails.

They won't break if they're done well. You can't really bite through them, they are ROCK hard. They kinda hurt sometimes if the person doing them is rough. Playing guitar will be difficult. Strumming would work fine, but your other hand, it'll be hard to hold the strings down.

sometimes they hurt like heck when ya break em and sometimes you dont even realize you broke one, till ya feel the ragged edge...they do take a while to get used to, so try getting them real short, like sports length, then let them grow longer as you have them filled. that will give you time to adjust to them...
you can bite them but it takes a lot of "bite", i have removed mine by biting them as i didnt have time to go get them taken off and i was working with hubby and needed them off.
im not sure about the guitar issue, but i do know that Dolly Parton uses hers as an "instrument" of sorts by rasping(?) them together to the beat of the music and it makes a neat sound....

Yes, they hurt when they break. But, moe importantly - they really make your own nail beds damaged. I had them put on to help me stop bitting my nails. I had to paint them daily and once you have them they have to be filled in when your own nails grow. And like I said your nail beds will be thin and in bad shape.
