Slavery was an abomination.

It took violence to end it.

I'm obviously glad it was stopped!

Read Lincoln's Second Inaurural. He really sums it up in a very eloquent way - how America had to pay for the sin of slavery. It's short, too!

Dear Kenna: Hi. My name is Josh McCain and I am a former Marine in The USMC. Serving in The Corps, back in the 70s and 80s, I saw my share of racial tensions. Sadly, I have also been forced to kill in to defend my person or my fellow Marines or My Country. I can say, with some authority, that violent death is Terrible to behold. Nat Turner was a slave because of the color of his skin. That was a terrible Wrong. Nat Turner Butchered many innocents out of Rage. That was a Terrible Wrong.TWO WRONGS NEVER MAKE A RIGHT! So why are we worrying about something that happened 150 years ago? Are there not more pressing issues concerning us in the 21st century that deserve our attention more than what happened in the 19th century? If this question had some type of impact on today's society or even today's current events, I could see it...but it doesn't. It's totally irrelevant.

This is the 21st Century and it seems the one thing we still argue over is race and racism, yet we are ALL proud of our own, thats racism.

NOBODY is alive from those days of slavery and gladiators etc. WE ( the black, white, yellow and red) need to get over it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
