What do you do if somebody hands you some feathers to get rid of its bad luck?

I think its because peacock feathers are associated with the greek goddess Hera, who isn't the nicest of people and tends to hold grudges. I think there are also links to the evil eye.
On another Hera note - the main colour of the feathers is green - green with envy - Hera was a very jealous goddess (not surprising as Zeus was always trying to get his leg over with pretty mortals, lol). On the other hand, green is also the colour of the heart chakra and love.
I think its just one of those superstitions that can go both ways depending on the cultures.

Chinese believes peacock feathers can get rid of bad luck, if put in a certain direction during a specific year.
