I would like to get a new MP 3 player that I can take to the gym. One that can be strapped to my arm. I see a lot of people who use them, but I need a good recommendation. Perferably something that is compact, but still can hold plenty of songs.

i think the best mp3 is the ipod shuffel the new one cheep and small and good for running the only thing is that you cant see what song is playing but you can play the songs in a set order or "shuffel" lol

i recommend the ipod nano. it is small, light, durable, easy to use, and can hold a lot of songs (depending on the GB size u bought).

i also take my ipod nano to the gym, but i first bought a sport case with a sport belt that can be strapped around my arm.

I have an 1g ipod nano with 4gb and it holds up to 1,000 songs and everything else. i have only 246 songs in my ipod and i still have a lot of space.

u can buy the 2g ipod nano which they have 2gb (silver only), 4g (silver, blue, green, pink), 8gb (black only), and also the special red version.

they seem a little pricy but it is worth it. 24 hours battery life, resistant to scratches, better backlight, etc.

some people say that the old ipod nano's design is better than that of the new one. and they say that they don't care if it easily scratches and u can buy a clear plastic film to cover and protect the ipod, or a case (sometimes it makes the ipod a little bulky).

well hope this helps, see u dude. good luck!!!

I think its the ipod. I know we've heard lately their not worth the cost they just have the name. But, there's a reason they've sold so many... they are good. I would avoid the nano tho. Get the ipod, ipod mini or ipod shuffle.

I have an RCA Lyra. Its VERY durable, and cheap, and upgradeable!! Its funny, I will go up to someone with an Ipod, show them my player, and drop it. I KNOW they wont do that with theirs, and mine still works!! You can get an SD expansion card to go with it. I included links to both below.
BTW, the player is under $50!
