I have 2 gerbils, and they have been using "Critter Powder" for their bathes. We ran out, and went to the pet store, but they didn't have any, so instead the man sold us "Sun Seed Chinchilla Dust", and he told us that gerbils can use it too. is it safe for my gerbils to use chinchilla dust?

thank you for answering :)

Yes It is safe for them to use. They might pick at it first, but they will realize they can roll in it just *** well as the old stuff. They should be fine.

I have never heard of Gerbils needing dust baths??!! Interesting.....I would say they would be made of the same ingredients since they are both rodents!

hi! i answered your other question about the dust...sry, i didnt realize what you meant!
i never heard of gerbils that "dust bathe". but if your hamsters enjoy it and they are fine since you started using it, why not?

Probably so, or it would not have been recommended.
