This is a response to Ron --

You are correct in a way, but you don't go far enough --

If you never had sex with anyone, you would still be heterosexual
If you had sex with males and never with a female, you would still be heterosexual.

You already know this.

What you do not want to deal with is:

If I never had sex with anyone, I would still be homosexual
If I had sex with females and never with a male, I would still be homosexual.

As hard as some people try to make it all about behavior, it has nothing to do with behavior. It is what is inside you. I am not and never would be attracted to females, even if I forced myself (as I did once as a teen) to have sex with them. :You would never be attracted to males, even if you forced yourself to have sex with them.

Gay and Straight and Bi are not choices, they are natural. What we do with them -- that is a choice!

That is why I have respect for the Vatican approved Roman Catholic group that stresses abstinence and celibacy, but does NOT suggest that people can change by choice. While I would not join their group - or if there were one a similar Anglican group, I respect them. I happen to not believe celibacy is necessary or desirable. I am happy with my life, with my partner of 15 years and with my relationship to the living God -- which I do not base on a dead book, but on living in love toward all men and women and on Eucharist -- Nevertheless, I recognize that they have a real solution for those who are not comfortable with themselves. Groups like Exodus however, are -- as their former members keep proving, a joke.

So, you are right, people can choose to not be sexual -- but that does not mean that their sexuality changes, only their actions.

BTW -- where is your Th.D. from, may I ask? I don't advertise my degrees personally, though I suppose someone could ferret them out if they wanted -- I'm always curious where the degrees of those who do advertise theirs came from.

Kind thoughts,

Reynolds

What are you saying?
Everything is a choice for a human. I was born to want to have sex with every female I find attractive. I CHOOSE not to, because it is wrong. You ask, "who says it is wrong?" I answer, "God says it is wrong." I have made a choice to follow the laws of God.
A sheep does not have the capacity to make choices; they are animals controlled by their instincts and desires. I will not cross that bridge, I will not make any inferences or suggest anything about homosexual behavior in humans. If they refuse to control their concupiscent wants and lusts; so be it, that's their CHOICE. If God said it was wrong for me to have sex with my wife, I wouldn't have sex with my wife. It is that simple.

The argument is very simple: I follow God, because I love God. Everyday I make a choice not to live a lifestyle of sin. My body may be prone to sin or I may have been born to want to sin, but I resist those temptations and battle against them. Many don't fight the fight and give into their lusts and temptations, it doesn't matter if they were born that way or they acquired a taste for their sin over the years; sin is sin.

Who cares what sheep do: Many animals mate with more then one mate over there life. That doesn't make it right.

They guy wasn't studying "gay sheep". He was studying sheep sex patterns in order to figure out how to improve sheep breeding rates for farmers. The whole "gay" angle was whipped up in the press. Separate studies would be required to go in that direction.

There are gay people and there are straight people and the world just needs to get over it and move on. It's nobody's business why a person is gay.

Obviously those sheep made a choice to be gay. Don't be surprised if we find out they were raised by gay or liberal farmers!
I can just see a new atheist, Godless slogan:
"Agnus Gay, qui tollis peccata mundi ..."

I for one, will NEVER eat gay lamb stew.

I'd believe the scientists, who are educated and well-versed in research methods, over the Christian groups, who base what they say on opinions only, any day.
