Your quite right, I think they got away from the pressure cooker to save time at the cost of the taste. Although, I do enjoy their chicken fried steak and the white gravy on Tuesdays.

Yep - I have been and am totally disappointed in the way this chicken tastes now. I remember as a kid that the rolls were the best in the business and we bought them by the dozen. Does anyone else out there remember how good the rolls were. The other day I broke down and stopped by KFC. The chicken tasted like nothin'. I tried my best to taste one of the "11 herbs and spices" but got only grease and salt. I guess I will be going to Golden Chick or Churches next.

Since PepsiCo's Yum! brand bought the franchise, a lot has changed. The "11 secret herbs and spices" today are nothing more than salt, pepper and MSG. I'm not sure about the cooking method differences, but the product is not even close to how it originally was. The only thing that hasn't really changed is the original recipe flouring mixture.. it's still a soft, pie-like breading like the way it was. You're better off not eating there, and getting fried chicken from a local deli or specialty store.

I'm not sure because I haven't noticed that change, but I do know that even though it's always been fried, it has seemed junker and junker lately. their pieces of chicken have gotten smaller and more expensive, and their fried chicken breasts are always dry. i've switched now to popeye's cajun fried chicken instead. it's much more flavorful, much moister, and cheaper than kfc any day.
also, they've also come out with a fish snacker. if they are frying this stuff in the same oil they fry their chicken, then their chicken will start to taste fishy.

Nothing is as good as it use to be. I agree with you. Back when I was a little girl, KFC had some of the largest pieces of chicken in the bucket you've ever seen. It has become rather greasy. I guess they've resorted to whatever is fastest and cheapest.

I think that they might be using a trans-fat free oil so it is a little healthier and that can change the taste. I am not really a fan of their food anymore. Not only is it over-priced (I can get the same amount of chicken from Albertson's deli for more than half the price) I just don't care for their chicken any more. I only like their mashed potatoes and gravy.

I couldn't agree w/you more. It's entirely too greasy. I remember when the chicken pieces use to look like chicken. But what's w/the toddler size chicken legs. I'm lookin like, "Okay, what am I suppose to do w/this?" Then after I eat it, I figure, what a waste of money. And I don't even get full. And they got the nerve to be expensive too. Well, those are my thoughts. (smile)

KFC used to be a real treat. Now it is a chore. Over priced. Too greasy. With a bad aftertaste. I am now a fan of Church's. But not the spicy, the breading is too hard on it. Church's is much more affordable and when you go there, they always have fresh chicken.

I agree it isn't as good as it once was. When I was a kid it was much better. I haven't eaten any KFC in 20 years, because it had gone down hill from when I was a kid back in the 60's.
Gosh, I'm getting really old! LOL!
