There are many reasons. Some people are naturally introverted or extroverted. Many people develop their social skills through their parents.

Introverts develop from parents who are not supportive and may be abusive to their children. Introverts also develop by following the lead of introverted parents.

Extroverts either have supportive parents or seek out support from other people. These people tend to have more confidence whether through parental support or internal support.

If a lot of that sounds like parental influence, it should. Parenting plays a major role in how we all interact throughout life.

Take care,
Troy

The genetic code plays a role in making so. More than that, a good childhood with mixed doses of happiness & sorrow makes a peerson an extrovert.I have also seen really desperate people with so many worries using this nature as an escape from it. On the other hand, I have also seen a lot of people with no apparent worries becoming an Introvert. Young guys with lots of family reponsibilities also tend to become introverts. So a definite answer is not possible, its the life, its perils and happiness that makes a person go for either one!!!

I am an extrovert..but sometimes reserved.. Genetics might be a reason. My two sons and wife are not necessarily introverts, but don't feel the need to be the center of attention or want to interact all the time. I enjoy the social exchange more than they do.

Its like asking why is a human a human ? Because they are just what they are. Different characters, different looks...but then, I think an introvert is an introvert because he/she would like to keep his/her thoughts to themselves...they do not indulge in too much of social mingling with other people, perhaps some situations in their life might have changed them to be the way they are, again, perhaps, because of any fear that they have which makes them worry on being too loud, open...Extroverts on the other hand, are just simply outspoken. They express more, with words and with their participation in conversations/actions, and you get to judge them instantly. For good or for bad, they are just easy and straight forward....wouldnt know if they are 100% straight forward, but yea, you surely can hear them...

I guess...

I think certain traits can be inherited... for instance my youngest son is a clone of my father in every respect, including personality....it also has a lot to do with the environment your raised in... extroverted parents usually but not always have children who follow suit

introverts get their stimulation and motivation from deep down inside themselves, and extroverts get it externally, from others.
I am truly an introvert and need lots of time alone but i appear as an extravert as i'm very sociable and outgoing.... but actually other people drain me and I need to be alone afterwards to do my 'thinking'!
