Call the police.

Less than 2% of stolen laptops are recovered by police. Be a part of the solution, and turn in the drug addict that sold you that computer. Your community might even pay you a REWARD, just ask the police about this.

But for gosh sakes, do not help a drug addict with their problem. Help them to get help.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

I had an issue like this in China, my employer gave me a laptop that was basically unworkable and I had to reformat and rebuild everything. Unfortunately there really are NO valid windows systems in China without paying three months salary (no wonder it's all pirated here).

If nothing works through Microsoft then I might have some other suggestions. If you need more help email me: blondboy_19@yahoo.com.

If you have a bought copy and it's not pirated go to microsoft.com and goto support there is live help on there somewhere. It might just be a bug in the Validateing software. It happened to me before and I had to do the live help with Microsoft and they gave me a list of stuff to do and it ended up working. Some software that is downloaded can change software system settings and cause the validate to get confused and think it's pirated. Well I hope this helps you.

The only legal alternative is to purchase that code from microsoft, or (much cheaper), find someone with a legit copy and buy it from them, however bad a shape it may be in as you can always get copies...you just need an exclusive code that only you will have. Amazing how much a few alphanumerics can run you.

Did you steal it?
I've had problems with validation in the past and I called Microsoft. I explained what was happening (I had two copies of XP and had mixed them up on the two computers during a reinstall.). They gave me a new "service id" and I was good to go.

If microsoft won't give you a new license, get UBUNTU. It's a free, reliable and up to date operating system. All of the programs are also FREE!!!
