I thought that the Democrats were the majority in the House and Senate. How come I read in a news report that the" Republicans thwarted a non binding legislation against Bush's troop increase in Iraq."?

By 4 votes. They needed a 3/4 majority and missed by 4 votes! That means a lot of Republicans was voting for it as well!

It takes more than a simple majority! If that were the case they would have won hands down!

Bottom line is 2/3 of the American people hate Bush and his policies, or didn't you get that from the last election?

Just wait until the next!

This vote isn't over yet either, Congress will bring it back to the table for another vote. The bottom line was that they couldn't pass legislature in the middle of the night so to speak behind every-ones back. Prior to the last election the Republicans were passing legislature without any bi-partisan help that put America in the current deficit and situation were are in. The Democrats had nothing to do with what they have done, and they did it all alone. This why America removed them from Congress, and are holding them responsible too. Scooter Libby's results should come out today as well. Time will tell what direction we are going.

Someone needs to get their little facts straight. It was defeated because Republicans stuck together and a few Democraps grew a brain. The whole idea and process is nothing more than a huge waste of time and money, OUR time and money. Why you sicko Liberals are not ticked off at that waste and crying that it should be going to poor loosers in inner cities, handouts for the undeserving, and crack babies is the real question. Its probably just that Liberals are so enraged with their own hatred, and the very idea that we are actually defending ourselves they instinctively act irrationally. 2/3 of America does not hate Bush, just the Liberals and other low lifes in the country. Thats about 43% by last census and non-slanted polls.
