That means that for some reason it was sent back to the factory for a problem it was having. Some times it will work even better than new because of the extensive testing it goes through before being resold

Most often this is a defective battery. Ipods offer a warranty on the battery if they fail the have to be returned. It is easier to mail out new one to the owner than to have them wait for it to be fixed. Now there is an after market that refurbishes the Ipods. If your Ipod came with a warranty, I wouldn't give it a second thought. Enjoy!

Refurbished means that you are the second owner of it. The first owner had purchased it brand new and sent it back for a default in it. They fixed it, and sold it to you as "refurbished". Hence the cheaper price.

refurbished means that's the owner found a problem and bought insurance on it (which i recommend for anything expensive) and they took it back to apple and they fixed it, and i think they still offer insurance on it also - you should get it just in-case

If it has been refurbished it means it was broken in someway and it was repaired before it was put up for sale.

I tmeans its been used and has been touched up or repaired and is now being sold on again as almost good as new

I think you shouldnt get this iPod since if something goes wrong, they wont give refunds. so before you purchase it, think twice.
