In general, a horse cannot just an obsticle that is taller than he is. The most elite jumpers at grand prix level can sometimes clear a 7 foot jump, but not always and not easily. Even at the highest levels of competition, these extremely high jumps are only set out during the jump-off competitions to decide the winner of a round.

If it could, I'd hate to have to build the fence to keep it in! I doubt any horse could jump that high. According to Wikipedia, Huaso set the world record in Puissance (jumping) in 1949 by jumping 8 ft., 1 1/4". There are pictures included with the article. I wouldn't have wanted to be on his back when he did it, either! I think you won the bet.

That is definitely not true. The all time world record was just over 8'1" and that was jumped in a puissance competition in February 1949 by a horse called Huaso.

oh heck no! that is taller than the horse! the highest ANY horse should be made to jump is 6-7 feet. and eventhen the horse would have had to have been carefully trained to make sure that that wasnt pushing the horse too hard. but no. a horse couldnt jump 10 feet. (you just won 25 bucks lol)

DONT CALL US HORSE FREAKS....tell your sister i love horses too.....but tell her i am sorry a horse can not jump that high....UNLESS it wants out really bad....so you both lose the bet and you both win the bet....split the money

The highest recorded jump was 8ft. 31/2in. by Fred Wattach Jr. on his horse Kings Own. Its the unofficial record because it was not performed at a public viewing. The official record is held by Captain Alberton Morales and his horse Huaso jumping at 8ft. 2in. If you go to www.theultimatehorsesite.com you can see pictures of both.

No, definately not. Fortunately for you, you will win the money here ;)
The highest jump I believe was around 8 feet tall... I do not think that 10 feet it is possible or has ever been done.
Have fun with your money :)
