Depends what you mean by privacy. Physical privacy is hard to maintain; you sleep together - yet I know of at least two couples who have never seen each other naked. there is privacy in any relationship - only you can decide how much you will divulge to someone -and we never really know anyone after all, do we?
It is possible to be close to someone and yet be private; there are ways! I think it's healthy for SOME privacy to exist in a relationship like marriage - after all, it keeps us interested if we think that we never really know someone.

If you want your marriage to succeed, then you have to give yourself to your spouse and vice-versa. The two become one. That's the idea. If any conflicts arise, and they will, do not involve a third party, regardless of how innocent the intent. That violates the privacy of the marriage and subsequently, the trust. That is much harder to fix than any pre-existing issues.

Every healthy relationship should provide for a modicum of privacy. Everyone deserves some "space" beyond just using the bathroom.
Some folks believe they have to share every little minute detail, and - for them - that's fine, but unless you have some sort of doubt or suspicion about each other, you should allow for private time.

Let me see, when you shut the bathroom door and lock it there should be privacy.
Now if you think privacy means hiding your phone bills, cell phones, email, blogs, web history. You just up to no good and conning your partner.
I mean WHY WOULD YOU CARE IF YOU DIDN't DO ANYTING WORN.
I mean I don't care if my wife looks at the electric bill do I.
