Nero's house address number was in fact 666 and when the bible was written, Nero was a savage, muderous beast and if they would have directly referred to Nero himself, they would have been tortured and executed.

Hence, they referred to his street number to avoid pointing fingers.

This is historical FACT.

666 has nothing to do with the devil...only in modern times after years of misinterpretation.

Look it up...

If you are guessing some overweight persons weight at a carnival, I would say;" yes." Especially, if you don't want them to sit on you over it. The number six has also been used to represent the physical world. So if the number six is to represent a person in or from a physical world that once was and is not, yet still is, can have several different meanings or interpretations. It could represent a time traveler and or a person who can manipulate other time periods such as the Biblical Watchers and or a powerful, immortal entity. Look into Remote Viewing for a similar ability. The mark of the beast may refer to their ability to control people with their minds and their hands like remote control as with a virtual reality computer simulation. In other words; A game and or program. If a physical planet is represented by the number six or the physical world and it's physicality or natural laws of physics than these can be represented as a beast within the planet that will become unstable or unleashed at a calculated time. The signs in the heavens can be the trigger for these events by other physical bodies in an alignment. Like a great wheel cast into the sea can mean an asteroid or comet. Again this is one of the signs in the heavens. Since much of religion seems to be centered around these natural and astrological events they can become used or interpreted as God- like events for punishments. Look up; Yellowstone Super Volcano in Bible Codes. It's eruption and its effects on us globally can be considered as fullfillment of a prophecy or as an inevitable prediction. Think of it all logically as there may have also been a calculated and limited so-called rapture of pre-chosen people. The meek that inherit the earth may be those who learn to survive these natural disasters. The thousand year reign may just be a calculated time of the presense of a certain group of people to bring back order and stability. The release afterwards for a short time, can refer to another natural yet limited disaster. How would you tell a world that only a few will be chosen to repopulate or govern their planet in a future time? And how will this alleged prophecy be written and fortold? How would you react towards your neighbor if you knew he or she was chosen and you weren't? Whatever the truth behind the number, there is also wisdom and logic.

You should be weary of writing things that 'you' believe to adversely affect your livelihood.

Think about this ... what if you wrote something that you believe in and that you believe would cause your downfall like, "I will lose my job soon." Since you believe you will, you will start to acidentally do things that will bring about unemployment. You will start to 'see' things, such as your boss looking at you funny or people snickering around corners.

You start to believe that you will eventually job and, through your beliefs and actions, you will 'talk them up'. Human minds are more powerful, yet inferior, to animals. An animal will see that another animal has been caught in a trap and will continue to walk those same paths day after day regardless.

People believe that actions that have not affected them - yet has been set as precedent by others (such as superstitions or religious 'actions') - will affect them. Walking under a ladder has the same affect as writing 666 to an extremely superstitious, fanatical Christian - even though neither may have an effect on another.

Yet, you have to look at the implications of what writing such a number may incur either - wrath (that fanatical Christian) or consolment (that fanatical Satanist) from some people in America. Let's say you write this number and put it in your cubicle where EVERYONE can see ... most Americans will shun you - thinking you are a Satanist or something ... which may be bad luck ...

I think the real question you should be asking is whether or not you 'believe' that writing 666 will incur the Devil's wrath ... if so, don't write it.

It's only a number. Just like 13, it can't hurt you.

The reason people get so paranoid over it is due to its infamy in the book of Revelation in the Bible. 6 is an imperfect number. 7 is considered "perfect," hence it's considered a divine number. Because 6 is one short of 7, it's just barely missing perfection. 3 is considered a complete number, so to write three 6's is to be completely imperfect, which, according to the Bible, is mankind in a nutshell.

People have forgotten that the book of Revelation was written during a very dark time in Christian history. Christians were being persecuted, they had to worship in secret and if a person admitted to being Christian, he could even be killed! No trial, no nothing. Just a long, torturous death. So when John (the guy who wrote Revelation) was in prison and sending Revelation to seven different churches, he had to be very careful what he wrote. So he wrote in code. The code has been misinterpreted over the years and some people have taken it literally. But it's still just an encoded message; the stuff that Revelation talks about isn't going to happen like that. Some scholars think the events hinted at in the book of Revelation have already happened.

It is not wrong to write 666. In fact, my telephone number used to have 666 in it. (Had to have it changed so my grandmother would call me again. Yep. Takes the Bible completely literally.) During that time, nothing bad happened to me, except that my grandmother stopped calling.

Wasn't there some news that the number 666 was mistranslated and its actually 616 or 665?

If so, then by all means write/type 666 all you wish. Besides, I highly doubt the higher power would smite you for such a small issue.

Why would writing a number down be wrong?

It's only a number. The whole "bad" connotation came into popularity from the movie, "The Omen". I mean hey, kids got killed in "Friday the 13th" too, but parents still send their kids to summer camp.

No, it isn't. It is supposed to be the sign of 'the beast' but we all know that whoever came up with it could just as well have told us that saying 'fish' meant you were gay or writing 'olly-folly-lolli-dolly' would earn you a one way ticket to hell. People are superstitious and insane when it comes to religion.

It IS just a number. 666 is incorrect anyway, it's 616 in Hebrew gematria, and it referred to Emporor Nero.

Depends in which context you use it. It is the number of the beast, but it's also just a number, or amount of something.
Without it we would count 664-665-667-668.
