serious question for people who support this. we can point the finger of blame till it falls off, does not change the fact that we are in iraq. so if we cut and run are you willing to accept the consequences of possible genocide and ethnic cleansing that will accure? i look at it just like we live our life if we @&#?up we try to make right what we did not turn and walk away from it.

Think of GWB as a bus driver.
He has basically driven our Bus ( with us in it) into a giant ditch and turned us over.
Now, the first thing to do is acknowledge the fact that the bus driver screwed up. The next thing to do is fire him.
Cutting and running would then be equivalent to leaving the bus in the ditch with injured passengers and all and having a few drinks at a nearby bar. That would be irresponsible.
No, we made this mess we have to get ourselves out of it in a responsible manner. That's not all military either. Diplomacy is still an option hopefully.
Back to the bus metaphor, we have to call the police and ambulance, take care of the wounded call the insurance company, file charges and go to a trial, in other words, the bus driver (Bush) has caused us a lot of grief that we must now and in the future deal with.
The Iraq study group gave us a road map on how we should be working to get out we should follow that.
Make no mistake though we FIRST have to recognize that this was a screw up and deal with it from that angle.

Honestly, Iraq was a lot better off before American meddling and interference in internal affairs. We've succeeded in making the most secular country in the Middle East a haven for Islamist terrorists, who are seen as patriots for fighting a brutal foriegn occupation army!
Basically, we should leave Iraq to the Iraqis - it'll be bloody and brutal for a couple of years, and then somebody will win the civil war and they'll sort things out on their own!

Well, let me give you a little example and these were commies against those we supported!
NIXON cut and ran in Vietnam! Leaving millions to be slaughtered!
This has turned into a civil war, thanks to our inept policies and poor military management DUE TO CONSTRAINTS BUSH PUT ON THE MILITARY!
Genocide? Since when have we cared about genocide! We were killing millions of Iraqi children under 5 by starvation due to our blockades! Genocide? We do it better than anyone except the Germans!

Show me one person that has advocated cutting and running. The Dems plan changes the focus of the troops in Iraq to fighting Al Queda and training Iraqis. It is similar to plan presented by Rep. Warner a month ago. How is that cutting and running?

This is an unwinnable war. We cannot change the people in that area. This war was waged well before the US took over. We are merely the latest in a long line of peoples that tried and will eventually fail to tame the Middle East. They are a bunch of radicals and do not want freedom. They want their own land to do with as they please. To think that we will "win" is ignorant of the situation.

Only the weak willed would want to cut and run, not caring about the consequences to the Iraqi people. Obviously the party of "brotherly love" isn't quite hip to actually practicing what it preaches.

THE DEMS RATHER SEE A MASS GENOCIDE THAN A SOLUTION. AT LEAST WE ARE TRYING. THE ONLY THING THE DEMS ARE TRYING IS TO LIMIT THE CAPACITY TO FIGHT FOR OUR BOYS IN HARMS WAY.
