No, they are not good pets. Yes, they are dangerous.
They're deceptively strong -- an adult chimp could pull your arm out of its socket.
When they get irritated, they bite.
When they're really angry, they can attack, maim, and kill. Captive chimps don't always enjoy their captivity, so expect a chimp to spend some of its time being angry.

Chimps are very dangerous. Like any wild animal they can attack at any moment. They are two times more powerful than a full grown man. They have extremely sharp teeth and will bite. People who keep them as pets have to have their teeth shaved or cut down often. Also they carry diseases that can be harmful to humans. A friend of mine works at a zoo and although the chimps are trained, they still act very aggressive and at times brutal. They throw things at her, leaving huge bruises and welts. One even throws poop at her often. They ARE NOT good pets and shouldn't be kept as them.

a chimp would make a good pet, but, are they dangerous? We'll considering we share 98% identical DNA, we are susceptible to their illnesses, and a few years ago at Emory University a girl working with them died of i believe a strand of herpes when the animal got excited and sprayed urine in her eye. don't know why she wasn't wearing goggles though, and i never read anything about that. so, are they dangerous? i would say yes, but it still is an isolated incident.

Full grown chimps are stronger than the strongest Human Weight lifters, they have been known to rip off limbs of humans in Africa. They also are vicious biters. They can be very moody too especially the males .No they would not make good pets.

Chimps can't be good pets, and they are dangerous. You can never fully tame a wild animal... they have strong instincts.

Not Really- They out grow there cuteneess. It's like having another human around. I saw this very sad documentary about displaced chimps. Stick to dogs, cats or parrots.

Chimps are very intelligent and could make good pets. As far as I know, they are not dangerous. In fact, some can be quite loyal and affectionate.
