The most strictest Emirate of the UAE is Sharjah.

1) The 24-year-old Morrocan wife
Crime: "private time with a man", alcohol consumption
Punishment: 3 Months in jail, 80 lashes, deportaion

2) The 43-year-old Emirati lawyer lover
Crime: "private time with a woman", alcohol consumption
Punishment: 3 months in jail, 70 lashes

3) The 33-year-old Jordanien man
Crime: stabbing the lawyer at least thirty times with a kitchen knife
Punishment: 3 months in jail

4) Last week a Pakistani couple got punished (forgot what the punishment was) for being married and having a child.
Crime: the woman didn't ask her father for permission

........to give you some examples about Sharjah. Also the dress code for women in Sharjah is stricter than in the other Emirates.

The most tolerant Emirates are Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Since a couple of years even during Ramandan the cubs are open in Dubai and since last year also in Abu Dhabi. No life music, but drinking alcohol inside is allowed. Also the dress code is very tolerant in these Emirates.

To bad that many Westerners taking advantage of it.

But - when it comes up to single women getting pregnant, illicit affairs etc and its getting reported, also Dubai and Abu Dhabi taking action and a punishment is guranteed.

When it comes up to punishment all Emirates make a difference if the "crime" is commited by a Muslim or a non Muslim, especially where alcohol is involved. But in Sharjah the punishment is the hardest and the rules are much more stricter then in the rest of the UAE.

lol, when did Saudi become religious? They are so self absorbed that they don't even mind breaking every law of Islam. In fact, they make their own version of the religion and say this is the truth! They have caste system which is against the law of equality emphasized by Islam. I can go on and on about Islam vol 2 of Saudia Arabia. I lived in UAE for a while. Its moderately conservative and respects all religions. I had trouble over there because of the heat. Otherwise, it was really fun.
