ditching their obsession with themselves (appearance) and the endless stream of bloody waste of space nobodies that are plastered all over the pages of women's magazines calling themselves celebrities.

what is the fascination with what color shoes some skinny coke head spoilt brat is wearing etc etc -

if women actually stopped living in bloody lala land they would get alot further - but then that would be bad for us men because when in control of their emotions and not being complete bitches they are probably better in the workplace - (office) and men like the fact that so many women are emotional wrecks and air heads because they can feel superior but if women were not like that men would possibly be less attracted to them as they would feel threatened. anyway thats all nonsense

the biggest challenge is - not being a ***** to your fellow woman and living in the real world instead of worrying about other peoples lives

alll generalisations of course

Afraid I have to agree with a lot of the other answers.
The biggest challenge to a women in society today is still prejudice. Unfortunately sexism is still the rule rather than the exception.
Deep down, nothing has really changed.

Maybe not THE biggest but i think that some women are faced with the challenge of trying to prove ourselves as good women. So many women have lost respect for themselves in so many aspects and it is sometimes hard for a good woman to prove herself in the workplace, the home, and the world generally speaking.

Trying to overcome common conceptions about a womens role in life. There are still men out there that think cooking, cleaning and all other responsibilities are only the womens responsibility, Even when the woman works at a job the same amount of hours as the man.

Feminism. Women are being told to care about themselves first and it is the kids who are suffering. It's very hard for a woman who is a stay at home Mom to try to tell other independent, business women that that's what she does. Being a Mom is a full time job, but sadly, many women today don't realize it because they are being pressured into working. Yes, I know some have to work, but some are simply working so they can afford that digital cable, VCR, HDTV, new sofa, new kitchen, etc....and it comes at the expense of their chidren, when those things weren't necessary.

Confidence is everything. If you're overweight but are confident and just don't give a s**t, then you will have no more challenges than the average woman. Nowadays, more and more guys are attracted to BBWs and more and more people aren't shy to admit it either. I am one of those guys. So really, I think BBWs have it better nowadays than in the past.

I think in this day and age it takes two incomes to live a decent lifestyle. So many women want to work, but still have a family, which is very difficult.

I would say it would be if you are expecting. If you already have a career, what you'll do. Or if you get out of the working world to raise a child, how will you get back into it in the years to come. With advances rapidly appearing every day. You'll be out of the loop when you return.
