It's that possible. I read a beautiful story thru one of the questions. I was just curious it is possible a blood test can detect pregnancy and a HPt can't even though you are far in the pregnancy? Have anyone had that question in mind or have gone thru it? The person who answer said that the baby was born and it's now seven months.

Entirely possible.
Some women dont secrete (im not sure of the word...) but anyways the HCG doesn't always get into the urine, usually because the levels of HCG aren't high enough. This happened to a girl at my job and even when she was 7 months pregnant didnt get a positive on an HPT.

Blood tests are more sensitive than hpt's usually and so are able to detect hcg when a hpt wouldn't. However, if you are far along then a hpt should detect it too.

some women don't excrete the hormone in their urine, which would make for a negative urine pregnancy test. however, they would show up in a blood test.
I have a friend that went through this, at 8 months was still testing negative in a urine test.
