I love the Blues. I wish they would but I am a realist and they probably won't. Especailly if they trade Guerin.

Actually, they could maybe win the memorial cup 06-07, but i've heard Lewiston get a pretty good team. Anyway they didn't choose to play in the good league.

If they stop trading players like Pronger for overrated sidekicks or draft picks they will waste on juniors who will never make the NHL, with some luck they should make the playoffs before 2025, and, as you know, everything's possible in the playoffs.

The Blues are 10 points out of a playoff spot at the moment. Coming into the home stretch of the regular season, and every other team trying to catch Calgary for that 8th spot, it's going to be a monumental task for St. Louis to work their way up to that spot and hold on to it before the end of the season. If they do that, I still think they wont have a chance if they (in the 8th spot) get paired up with Detroit or Anaheim fighitng for #1, the two top teams are far too strong for St. Louis to handle. I'd like to see what comes of the Eastern Conference playoff race, but we all know that our boys here in Buffalo are going to win the Presidents Trophy for #1 in points in the league. Go Sabres... and St. Louis I suppose too.

All the Blues need to do to win the Cup is add a few players. Say Crosby, St. Louis, Lecavalier, Hossa, Savard, Thornton, Heatley, Briere, Sakic, Lidstrom, Souray, Gonchar, Phaneuf, Hasek, Luongo and Brodeur. The Cup will be in St. Louis.

They won't win the Cup this year. They need to trade Guerin or Tkachuk or both, gain draft assets and cap room, and then get some good free agents to go with the young talent they have stored up. Playoffs next year, possible cup run 08-09, if they play their cards right.

If they can somehow make it in the playoffs they can. Assuming all is the same as when AM took over they will slide into the playoffs. If they somehow by luck get in i feel deeply they can manage to win several games and who knows with some luck they could win the cup.
The biggest question is will they slide into the playoffs?

I seriously doubt the Blues will even make the playoffs this year. Even if they did, they would never be able to stand up to the Red Wings, the Sharks, or the Ducks (not to mention the Stars, the Canucks, and the Flames).

No chance the Blues will even make the playoffs this year. Sorry. I think the Blues being a serious contender is a few years off for sure.

Unfortunately they have too steep a hill to climb. 10 points back with only 20 games to go is too much for them to overcome. Secondly they have three teams to hop to get in the playoffs. Even if they make the playoffs (which they wont) they are not deep enough to stick with a team like nashville, detroit, anaheim. They will have to wait.

Sorry, I don't think they will. They don't have the team that they had years ago. Bill Guerin is going to be a UFA this year and he will probably get traded. So who's left?
Better luck next year.
