Because they don't realize that their decisions are affecting real people. I seem to remember Rumsfeld being asked by a soldier serving in Iraq why they had to go to junk yards to salvage scrap metal to use as armor for their vehicles. Too bad the bullets he was sweating couldn't be used as some of the supplies they desperately needed...

Like what? While some Republicans may "hum and haw", not all do. Some of them just don't give the answers you want to hear. Democrats do it too, by the way, it's not strictly a Republican thing.
And it also depends on your definition of a valid question. If you're asking something with an accusatory overtone, all that's going to happen is you'll cause people to become defensive. THAT means that you won't get any good answers from the people that your question is directed towards.
I have to tell you, I'm not even a Republican, but some of your questions are EXACTLY the inflammatory type that causes Republicans to become defensive. I don't blame them one bit.

What "valid" questions? Your questions are so lop sided that there is no "answer" that you can accept; anything that disagrees with you is a "Hum and Haw" no matter how valid. Give it your best shot at asking a non-biased question, and we will give you our best shot at an honest answer.

Go ahead... ask...

Your right, we should be like the Dems in Congress and pass Non-binding legislation which is another way of saying "we don't like the war but aren't going to do anything about it accept talk really, really mean!"

Its hard to face the truth.

Some here will STILL tell you that Iraq had WMD's. Some still link Iraq to 9/11. Even though the administration has admitted both of these to be false.

What can you say... it's hard to be wrong.

Because they rarely have real arugments. They think by calling people "cut and runners" and "unpatriotic" that they're winning the argument. Of course reality and the November elections tell us otherwise.
