I was watching a special about making coins and it discussed how they are supposed to be printed on both sides and that people looke for rare one-sided coins.

Suppose to be a Winged Libery Head Dime, or Mercury Dime as it is more commonly known as. But I can't tell the value unless I can examine it upclose. It's most probably a post-mint product, meaning that either someone filed off one side of the coin, or it's a magician's coin manufactured specially for tricks. If it's a genuine mint error, then it's called a uniface coin but so far I have not heard of such a dime. I suggest you bring the coin to a reputable dealer and ask for opinion. But don't rush into selling it if it's genuine. Send to a coin certification/authentication service if so, and put it up at an auction.

It is a mistake and I'm sure it's worth something. How much? I don't know. Try this web site. http://coins.ha.com/info/typevalues.php
