It is suitable for either gender. If it is agreeable to you and your partner, what would it matter what the rest of the world thinks.

There are lots of males with Dana. I remind you of the famous comedian from one of the early Saturday Night Live installments "Dana Carvey" - and to this date, I don't recall anyone making fun of his name.

There was another comedian from the 60's with the first name Dana, a big guy but don't recall his last name. No one made fun of his name either.

Personally - I would think kids at school would be cruel to a boy named Dana. But thats just my opinion.

Ahh its not that its to feminine but when he is in school and the teacher calls out Dana on the first day of school she/he is going to be looking for a girl. I think this name will lead to much embarrassment for your child. However, good luck with your new baby boy!

It sounds like a boys name. In fact, I know of two young men with the name Dana. Deanna or Deana would be too girly for a boys name.

Dana Carvey.... short and funny, short and funny.... Dana Point, a large and pretty manly looking piece of rock. Dana Delaney... pretty hot, but okay, she's a chick.

Is any of this helping?

Is really up to you, and is a pretty gender neutral name (although may lean a little to the chick side...) He can always go by Dan for short if he doesn't dig it, or Daynalicious if he swings that way. So I think you're pretty much okay however you choose....
