I am a loyal Orioles Fan and i think this year we have a shot. Just keep the faith, cause one day it's going to happen. They showed 2 seasons ago they could compete with them, before Rafel decided he needed to cause a distraction in which the team couldn't recover. The Yanks and sox have their own problems and i don't think they are elite, and they are givin way to much credit. If the O's are going to go far they have got to get that pitching fixed. Some one has to step up and take the Ace Starter Role, but we have yet to see that. Bedard pitched very well but is he someone you can build a rotation on. They can beat them always, Believe. They are on to something they just have to bring it all together. Hey yankee fans, you got the highest payroll in baseball and look what it got you last year. Nothing!

I don't think they can. The only way is if the owners of the Orioles care more about winning and go after the players that can get the job done.

They can but the Orioles Management seems determined not to spend the dollars necessary to compete. I had thought that when they got Tejada a few years ago they would get competitive but they pulled back and pissed off the fans and Tejada as well. In todays market you have to spend money to make money.

I really don't think they can, or if they do, it will be for only one magical season. The odds are too stacked against them and playing 2 teams with a bunch of all stars, than its going to be tough to pull out 100+ wins in a season. And 100+ wins is what it'll take to pull out an AL East title.

not unless MLB makes the payrolls more even.
that is the sad truth about baseball today some teams just never even have a chance at winning and some teams win every single year. i would like to see them win the division though.

No way in hell.
Maybe the Metz but not the Orioles, at least not in the near future.

Yes ...Angelos dies and they stop signing stupid contracts for mediocre players and pay through the nose like all the other mid-market teams. Not like Detroit has more money than us.
