Italians and Spanish people are Caucasian, which also includes Anglo-Saxons. Due to the warmer, sunnier climate of southern Europe the Italians and the Spanish have slightly more olive skin than people in Northern Europe which is colder, darker and wetter.

By the way, 'Anglo-Saxon' is not a blanket term for white people. 'Anglo-Saxon' refers specifically to peoples of English Germanic origin. (Our homeland being northern Germany and southern Denmark).

properly, Spanish (from Spain) is likewise white :) it fairly is an historic eu united states in touch in the middle of eu power and politics for hundreds of years. Italian is white/Caucasian additionally, definite, in spite of the reality that Italians are no longer Hispanic. Hispanic = international locations the place Spanish is actual language of their united states (like Spain, Mexico, etc). Italy and Spain are acquaintances in southern Europe, have a lot shared or comparable history, some cultural similarities besides of direction, yet are no longer a similar.

Though they fall under the main umbrella category of Caucasian, I believe they fall into the subspecies of Mediterranean. The link below goes into more detail about how race is broken up Anglo-Saxon usually refers to the English, Irish, Scots, etc.

As far as I recall you can be Black, White, Hispanic, Asian or Indian. Italian people aren't black, hispanic, asian or indian. Especially, the ones that come from the U.S. They certainly don't have this tan resemblance that so many of you speak of.

When I was growing up, my mom told me that Spanish and Italian people have black blood in them. Many will denied having black ancestry because in America being black has a negative association. Today Italians are view as white. I always thought Spanish people call themselves brown. Many Hispanics are dating and marrying white. They know it will be better for them in the long run. We live in a white dominated society. Individually you will find some Spanish and Italian people who are down for black people and culture and will marry African Americans. I always thought Hispanic considered themselves non white. There are white, Indian, mixed, and black Hispanics. I guess it depends on the individuals. My Hispanics friends don't like it when people call them white or think they are white. I have been noticing more and more in TV shows, movies like the Ghost Rider there is a Latina women and white man. I think Hollywood is making this the new couple so people in everyday life will people mimic this too. This is how cruel people are. I am sure the light skinned or white Hispanic are treated better than the dark skinned Hispanics just like light and dark skinned blacks.

Italians and Spanish people are from Latin descent....some of them being much lighter skinned/light eyes than others.
Keep in mind, not all Italians are Sicilians.....there are red headed Italians and blonde Italians. :-)

Yes, they are classified as white (Caucasian). It has more to do with facial features than skin color.
