The Grand Canyon? The Great Coral Reef? The Himalayas? A Kenyan Safari park? Spaghetti Junction in Birmingham? What view would you love to wake up to in the morning?

Oh a nice beach.
The sound of the surf rolling in, the warm waft of an ozone-laden breeze, the clear blue sky, and the notion of throwing myself into the ocean before pitching up for work.
Such was my view each morning, when in the Mid-East for a few years. Somehow, a cold drizzly morning in Bournemouth does not hit the spot.
Oh a nice powerful sports car on the drive was worth looking at from a bedroom window.
All is true, so I can put Spag Junction, Leicester, all of it, Croydon, Stevenage, Luton, Hendon, Glasgow, Swansea, and various others out of my mind. Room 101.
I now view sheep, horses & cattle from a rural farm cottage in Hertfordshire, and apart from the pony with a bad cough at 3am, under a bedroom window, all is well.

But give me a sea / ocean view evertime.

Anywhere - it also means that I have almost no noisy neighbours to either side.

Ah - peace & tranquility.

Unless I belt out something on guitar or keyboard, to the rythm of the waves.
Away with the Himalayas, too cold.

Bob.

Since your questions specifies 'from where you live' and not some place where you would like to live, then I would have to say Blencathra (Saddleback), Helvellyn and St. Sunday Crag, all located in the North Cumbrian Mountains near Ullswater. I see some of those fells when I drive to/from work and they look different every day depending on whether they are bathed in morning light or evening light. They change with the seasons - majestic covered in snow and threatening when the skies darken and cloud and rain sweep in from the Keswick valley. How fortunate I am!

I read some of the answers you have received and they are a lovely mental travelogue. My favorite view is the oddball, I think because I love the desert. I want to look out over the Redrock country of southern Utah or Arizona, see the clear blue sky and the subtle shades of lavender and ochre in the the shadows of the sandstone rocks.

It would have to be a golden stretch of deserted sandy beach, followed by the beautiful blue of the caribean sea, blue skies and old fashioned dhows sailing in the distance. I will never tire of looking at the sea!

Freshly pisted snow is what I would say today. Tomorrow it might be sandy beaches, the next day a big lake. (or loch)

The view inspires your activities for that day. It is not the view itself which is what you want, it is the location. Being close to the fresh pisted snow, on a sunny day.

It does not matter what the view is like.

Hi, I would love to have a view of the sea, either at Paralimni Cyprus. or Treaddur Bay, Anglesey. That would be a dream come true.

Hanalei Bay on the north side of Kauai -- last year we spent a week on Kauai in a condo in Princeville and my wife and I both fell in love with that view...
