At 14, yes, this is absolutely normal. Most women take a few years to get regular menstrual cycles, and a large fraction of women never have a truly regular period.

If you haven't been sexually active, then there's no need to be concerned at this point. You want to have at least one period every three months, so if you don't get another one in the next couple months, talk with your mom about going to see a doctor. In the mean time, carry some extra pads or tampons with you so you aren't caught with no supplies if you start unexpectedly.

Are you sexually active? If you are there is still a possiblity that you may be pregnant. I had my period for three months before I found out I was pregnant? Do you have a good relationship with your mother? Another adult? Many things can upset your cycle. Have you had a lot of stress lately? Find an adult that you that you can confide in. Good luck to you.

When you are that age your period hasen't regulated itself yet. It took me over a year to get regular. You might skip a month, or have it twice in one month. It will become regular in time. Just always keep a pad or tampon in your purse in case of emergency.
