Just out of curiousity which one of these drugs is the safest to be addicted to long-term - Anbien (sleeping pill) or Heroin? - obviously neither is safe but which is the safest? I did some research on both of them and it's shocking how Anbien seems to be the worse drug with the worse effects, when anbien is the legal drug and heroin is the illegal drug.
I know that with anbien you build up a tolerance towards it after around 2 weeks, cause it's only meant for a short term answer to a sleeping problem. Say someone HAD to take a drug to sleep, I know there is always a way around it, but let's just say there wasn't and they HAD to; isn't heroin the safest drug, since the long term effects of heroin compared to a sleeping pill are much much less, and because of this, why is heroin illegal if it is safer in general than any sleeping pill?

Heroin has very little effect on the body physically while being taken, as it is a natural opiad. It only turns nasty when you stop taking it once addicted. Even then there is no damage just physical symptons of withdrawal. So you are right it is by far the safer of the 2, but still not a good idea.

yea ambian isn't a good thing, and it doesn't work for everyone. I had to take it was taking 2 pills to help me sleep. Recomended dose is 1 and is supposed to knock you out in about a half hr. Well I would take 2 and still be up for another hr or 2. This was within the first week of taking them. Made the mistake of forgeting I had a drink (thats one) earlier one night, took one of my pills and thats when things got scary. I will say this listen to the alchol warning with ambian. Ads far as herion never tried it never cared to. So I can't compare the 2.

The question should be "why is anbien legal" the answer to that is $$$$$. Look at a drug such as marijana for example. It is illegal and it really isn't harmful in any way where as alcohol is legal and it kills people everyday. The Rx biz is terrible. Look at all of the drugs out there that are being abused (xanax, oxycontin, methadone... the list goes on and on). The key to your question is that NOTHING is safe to be addicted to. Even caffiene is terrible for your body. There are plenty of legal drugs that are just as bad, if not worse than the illegal ones. Try 5-HTP and Valerian if you have trouble sleeping.

Jonny jonny jonny old man just say NO! to drugs....................... Alcohol is the answer. Try this one before driving home tonight, take one bottle of brandy add a splash of lemonade.Takes the edge right off no more road rage either.You will be all mellow and nice when you get home.Get one of the servants to bury the body's and bits of limbs you will have collected on the way home, and then burn the car(evidence and all that) with alcohol you will be putting some money back into the economy as well.

tell u wot m8 , if u were 2 come 2 my estate and c wot smack has done 2 most of the users you would c it is a nasty evil drug that damages arteries , causes thrombosis, abscesses, and a lot of death. that's just a few of the physical things, not 2 mention the psychological long term damage 2 both user and family and kids. i,d say 1 out of three people are walking about on crutches aroun here due to the long term use of this poison. at least anbien can be controlled by your gp , unlike this illicit dirty crap that turns humans in2 souless zombies. dont touch it m8, you,ll smoke it , luv it , and in 6 months time you,ll be standing on a dirty street corner waiting 4 a scum bag 2 sort u out coz your strung out, then like most people you,ll start hitting up,thats when the devil really gets his kicks . stay safe m8.

Herion is probably one of the safest of the addictive drugs as far a physical damage to the human body. Believe it or not, the two worst drugs for the human body are the two legal and most available, alcohol and cigarettes.

we all know that drugs are drugs but, I work in a drug abuse clinic and the things that I see with heroin is totally shocking!!!!!At least a sleeping pill don't make you steal,kill and all of your teeth fall out.It don't make you lose your family.If your hooked on sleeping pills, you can slowly stop but doing that to heroin is almost like slowly crazy.MY ADVICE GET PROFESSIONAL HELP,IT'S OUT THERE AND ALOT OF TIMES IT'S FREE.YOU CAN DO IT ,ONLY IT YOU TRY.

if u need drugs for any thing other than being proscribed
you need your head checked out but in this case sleeping pills i think would be the safest

I'd say try an herbal called Melatonin. The stuff will make you sleep like a baby, and its natural.

heroin will kill you it will turn you in to a horrible person as for the other i guess it would do the same. if you need a drug try life
