It's the way the world is now. People don't live by morals and values like they used to. They feel that if, "Ok, I don't think I love you anymore or I wanna see other people" then it's okay to split! But they have no respect for the sanctity of marriage.

TV, movies, even the media show how no one values their marriage anymore. Even if people are not married, they act as if it's a sin to actually be faithful.

The influence on people today is a worldly, immoral influence.

I think that's what you were looking for. Hope this helped!

I disagree with everyone on this thread. The reason divorce rates are so high is because even 30 years ago women were generally stay at home moms. They had little to no education out side of high school. The husbands made the majority of the money and it "Trapped" the wife into a unhappy marriage. If she was to leave she would be making min wage and hurting to get by.

Fortunately times have changed and we now see a more successful and independent woman who does not need her husband for financial backing anymore. If the marriage is troubled she knows she can support herself and her kids.

I don't think that it has anything to do with commitment. There were just as many unhappy marriages then as there are now. People just don't have to be "Trapped" into the marriage anymore.

For one society has made it so easy to end a relationship.
Back in the old days ending the relationship was not an option. It was death do us part! Today people don't try to work on problems its much easier to walk away then to deal with it. If people worked half as hard at their relationships as they do in something they are very passionate about it would be a different story. People give up and don't try anymore. Also some people move to quickly into a relationship these days with out getting to really know the person and then find out later that they really are not the one they thought they were.

Hope this gives you some insight.

Some people when they get married they say I do, till death do us apart as long as I have my way. That is why people that do this do not stay together anymore.

Alot of people just give up, and stop trying to help the relationship. Instead of talking about the problems, or how they are feeling... they choose to look in other places for "support". Its so sad now-a-days, because you never know whats going to happen. When I see married couples that have been together for 20,30,40 years- It amazes me!!! Its so beautiful; yet rare!

this is the way society has evolved. Society supports divorce, makes it cheaper, easier and there are more lawyers than ever just waiting to get in on the $$$$. Internet makes it even easier, its easy to cheat and be deceitful. Its sad. Some of us rise above these things,

because society has made divorce a common thing. back in the day you were a failure when a divorce happened and women were foten shunned so you tried to make it work. nowadays its a trend to be on your 5th husband. ppl dont think of their children or they dont have children and sometimes they have children before marriage so they not with the parent anyway

People give up too easy.

Why would you marry someone that you are not willing to forgive? Just that simple.
