For one thing, most people can not READ AND UNDERSTAND the question.
For another thing, America is considered the dumbest country in the world... so why would anyone of the current generation even KNOW what Philosophy IS... let along be able to give a philosophical answer.

*Chuckles* that is very amusing and highly reminicant of Gulivar's Travels and other places where the word Yahoo is used appropriately. As a fellow student of Philosophy I understand your attraction to it. However, in most peoples' questions quoting Aristotle, Nietzsche, Rawls, Decarte, or Voltaire is not always appropriate and may firstly be condecending to those who are not students of philosophy, Secondly neither the question nor the answer may have much philosophical basis, and finally may be too obscure a reference to be understood by either the questioner or the answerer and therefore irrelivant.
If you have Philosophy questions by all means feel free to ask them. You may discover more philosophers then you think. Also Philosophy is a living science and is one in which people do not need any special qualifications in order to pursue as most philosophy is simply observation and critique in it's purest form, therefore, anyone can be a philosopher regardless of education or even validity, albeit a poor one. They just have to have an opinion and good timing (( glances at De'Carte the two Mills-es and Payne none of whom considered themselves philosophers but who wrote on the cusp of revolution )) - Anyway, Hope this helps. Have a good day and have fun studying philosophy.

You're mistaken. It's Yahoo that has nothing to do with philosophy. Intelligence demands an unencumbered series of questions. What appears to be random for the peanut gallery is containing threads of wisdom for those individuals who are able to "discern the ratio". Philosophy's grand scope prevails.

Here's a bit of philosophy........
“Most people receive very little training on how to live effectively and harmoniously with themselves and others. This I believe is an unfortunate outcome of our parenting beliefs and methods, as well as society's educational systems. It seems to me these beliefs and systems empathize academic and vocational skills and place little or no emphasis or value on providing a person with the essential skills to live a life of personal fulfillment, contribution and self actualization. Without proper training on how to make wise choices in one's life, the chances are very slim anyone will make them.”

If everything was perfect and people did what they were supposed to do, the world would not be in such chaos. Because someone has not met your expectations, does make them a Yahoo? Are you the Yahoo for making such an opinion? Do you like Yahoo on your celery?

Maybe because people feel better if they make an act of Philosophy a day. Maybe because people really don't know what philosophy is. Maybe people are here just for earn few points, so they can feel they are earning something, I'm sure there are even more reasons.

This is probibly to do with the questioners misunderstanding what philosophy is.
Philosophy concerns itself with what is the best way to live (ethics), what sorts of things really exist and what are their true natures (metaphysics), what is to count as genuine knowledge (epistemology), and what are the correct principles of reasoning (logic). (from Wikipedia)
