Clearly you have no concept of reality,it is in fact the illegal nature of these drugs which cause most of the problems associated with them. The addict is going to destroy himself whether it's illegal or not so he is not even part of the equation. The only thing that keeping it illegal does is cause the addict to cost the society tons of money in the process of destroying his life. And of course the rest of the society that uses drugs you will most likely never notice, with the tons of ways of beating a drug test you probably work with a few. The only time alot of drug users get caught is in an emergency drug test such as after an accident or something. And as to the violence involved I guess you missed that whole prohibition thing in history, once the govt got rid of that stupid law the violence stopped. As for the criminals involved people are either going to be criminals or not,we just give them more opportunities in this country with all the lifestyle laws passed by puritan idiots.Funny how they aren't gunning each other down in the streets of Amsterdam.

I have mixed feelings on the subject. I have known people who stayed "Cheech and Chong" baked out of their heads, and would not want to meet up with someone like this on the road, or in public for that matter (however, this is leftover feelings from being a 13 year old girl being hit on by her boyfriend's 20 something stoned brother's friends).
On the other hand, I know and work with people who use pot for various reasons, and are responsible with their use of it. They are more responsible than people who drink.
I think at least marijuana would be ok to legalize, but only if it is monitored the same way drinking is. IE... if a cop sees something that makes him suspicious, pull em over. Also, legal smoking age same as cigarettes and booze. If we end up selling the stuff in convenient stores (we already sell the paraphernalia, just not the filler!), give me some guidelines to work with so it's not getting into the hands of 10 year olds.

Because 80% of the cases investigated by law enforcement have SOME sort of drug nexis, it would be a serious mistake to legalize many of the drugs abused today.

Sadly, people are already destroying themselves and their families due to drug dependency.

There are good and bad drugs and good drugs that when abused do bad! The Controlled Substances Act identifies most types of drugs in specific catagories based upon their potential for abuse and addiction and their medical use.

As for law enforcement existance based upon whether or not drugs are legalized....I consider the mentality of someone who would even suggest such as pure nonsence!

If you study the results it had on China when they legallized heroin, you would see why that's not such a good idea. I see how you would think it would work, lessing the police force and bringing down the population of prisons, but for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. Think about it. Addiction problems, like we have with alchohol, violent crimes due to the breakdown of mentality, and the destruction of familys would only increase. Good try anyways.

that's a question that cuts for the duration of celebration lines. The Republicans love unlawful immigrants in that they settle for low pay, long hours, and unsafe working situations uncomplainingly. Democrats love illegals by way of fact they think of it appeals to the Hispanic voters (it unquestionably would not), Anti-unlawful Republicans are indignant at their celebration, at an analogous time as anti-unlawful Democrats are basically as fried at their celebration. the two events are tacitly asserting they approve of lawbreaking, with amnesty proposals to reward lawbreaking. Vote to toss out all incumbants this November.

You have a good point. But think of the people who would be dragged into the circle due to the drugs destroying them.

I actually agree with you......But there would no longer be drug dealers if it were legal?....And the price would go down so the junkies could afford it so they would not have to steal from people so often sot he crime rate would also go down......And the police could focus on more important things......ss
