I think that Paul is a great driver who does have his faults ( like most of us) but does get a bum deal most times, alot of the other drivers are not perfect!!! Bourdais for example. what do you think?

Paul Tracy is a great driver, but has gotten a bum rap because he is so competetive. For instance, he noses into turns when others would back off; he will go 3 abreast on a short straight and try to brake late into the turn to get position. I think he feels that if you don't try to finish first in every race, you have no business on the track. As a result, a lot of other drivers don't like him, and a lot of team owners don't either. However, I have never heard anyone doubt his ability behind the wheel of a race car, only that he races too hard.

Although I'm not a huge fan, I can't fault the guy for driving passionately (or is that dangerously). He certainly has talent but may be getting a bit on the old side, losing the competitive edge, and perhaps feels he needs to be even more aggressive, which has lead to severe crashes and fist fights. I don't agree that the best drivers went to IRL though. Maybe better teams owners and better run teams, not better drivers. Champ Car should be even better this year with the new engines, chassis, and teams!!

Paul Tracy has never lived up to his reputation, it was only after the split when penski, gnassi, and andretti took all the great drivers to irl that paul achieved anything, hes always been known for wreaking into his team mates,
that being said cart needs him more than they need bourdais,
bourdais going for a 4th straight championship wont do half as much for cart as another paul tracy fight will,
what cart realy needs is more personality, and that is something P.T. has

I am not real familiar with him, I don't follow Champ too closely, but I remember him in the 2002 Indy 500 (i think it was 02-the controversy with Castroneves). From what I know he is a pretty popular driver.
As for Bourdais. I don't know anything about him except I have heard he is a good driver. He's won the Champ championship 2 or 3 times right? I think he's the one with the glasses.
I wish they had a category for Champ Car too....just recently they put a seperate category for F1 and IRL....they could add one more. Take care.

Paul is a great driver but he needs to leave Champ car and move to the IRL where the good drivers and good teams are at.

Paul Tracy is a great driver! One of the most skilled out there.. I really wish his break-through into NASCAR would have went better.. He wrecked ALOT of race cars last year trying to figure it all out in the Busch Series... I havent heard whether anyone is giving him a chance again this season. I hope to see him go far in his career.. He deserves it
