Where can I find the next big music stars to hit it big in America?

I have found BBC radio 1 charts, sometimes what is big on those charts become big in America, like The Killers, The Fray and Gnars Barkley but I'm tired of looking through bands I usually don't care for. Anyone have any suggestions where I would find songs/music that has great potential to hit it big in America?
