Seems tesco recently imported 70 polish workers to UK to work in thier stores, as they said they couldn't fill the vacancies from uk workers, seems kind of strange to me as i know lot of peeps in uk who applied to tesco and got knocked back ...so is it right to import from another country instead ?

No I think it is disgraceful - the Tesco by me is full of immigrants who can barely speak a word of English - some of the students who live near the store have been knocked back - one of my neighbours who works there said that they are getting 2 for the price of 1 so they would prefer immigrants instead of local people!!

Britain has minimum wage laws so shops won't be paying migrant workers any less. The people who moan about these workers are generally those who don't actually want to work as far as I can see.

"well i want a job in tesco and im british i think that we should come first before any polish people. i have been knockd back by tesco twice and i bet the polish speak bad english wid no quals!!

but they are willing to work every hour that god sends thats why the get the jobs and not us because we like days off unlike them"

So they are flexible and hard working unlike you? As for bad English - perhaps you should work on your literacy before you fill in any more applications.

People here are being robbed of jobs that they deserve, tesco and others will feel it when sales eventually go down bcoz of a shrink in disposable incomes. The Polish where i live have thier special stores they buy Polish imported stuffs. And other firms as well are taking their jobs to India, S. Africa and other places. Uk is being milked dry, no wonder poverty is visiting daily many households.

Would doubt it very much indeed Tesco has actually imported them direct to work in there stores? and even if they did, they would be protected by the minimum wage. Don`t lets get bogged down by this, cos not every one in u-k wants to work at Tesco.
Live and let Live, thats what i say.

there are british workers who will be very pleased to have those jobs. tesco doesnt pick them. they pick slave labour. did tesco promote those jobs the position british human beings ought to make sure them? i imagine no longer. i ended procuring at tesco a lengthy time period in the past because of their deceptive in save deals. i am going to fortuitously proceed to purchase elsewhere and that i wish others will do an similar.

The true figures of Polish migrants is well over a million. The Government only knows of those who have legally declared themselves. That also applies to other nationalities.

The company my husband works for recruited 250 people from Poland to work at his company, but in this case people from our town did not want to work their themselves, poor pay and poor camaraderie amongst the staff and workers, since the Polish people came to work their things have improved 100%, the Polish people have been living and working in our country since the second world war.

Its because they can be employed for cheaper. I work in a place where they had a few people from darfor ( sorry about the spelling) and while I was getting paid min wage, they were getting paid about half as much as I was. Talk about slave labour

If people have applied for these jobs and had no reply they should complain to Tesco`s.
