i currently own an lcd tv which isnt hd but i can play my 360 on the hd setting ? so you dont need a hdtv do you?
i have read that the ps3 uses a hdmi connection so thats what is used for hd settings so how is picture quality the same on hdtv as a lcd tv when it uses the same connection of component leads with the 360 not hdmi lead.
just when i think i understand this hd stuff it all goes to **** again now im confused again.

Both component and HDMI allow for HD signals, the difference is HDMI is a pure digital signal, whilst component is not - and therefore requires converting which causes a slight loss in picture quality. On a non HD tv you will not really see much difference, it's only when viewing in 720p and 1080i & p that you can see the difference. In the end HDMI is loads better but only top end tv's have HDMI inputs.

Hi, the above answer is correct apart from one thing. You DON'T need to buy a top end tv to have an hdmi imput. My 32" lcd tv was under £500 and has an hdmi in addition to the componet connection. You can see the difference when using the blue green and red leads with hd set on the 360. Be interesting to see what it would be like using the hdmi imput though.

factor cables (green, pink, blue) could artwork nice and their much less high priced, maximum tvs are in a position to %. up 1080p alerts from them. some cant so in the journey that your not sure get an hdmi cable or VGA. moster cables are the perfect yet their HMDI is approximately $a hundred
