Vet Techs Performs wide range of technical nursing and laboratory procedures. This differs from a Vet assistant because of the required education and duties. A vet assistant usually is trained on the job and does not need special education.

Being a Vet Tech you have to go to school and get your degree. The jobs that you will be doing range depending on which clinic you work for. At my clinic I assist the doctor with all clients (i.e. holding them still). Take blood samples, run lab work, clean teeth, give some vacs., pre-operation prep (shaving, cleaning, giving the animal a sedative, and attaching the oxygen), help during operation, taking care of all animals in the clinic before opening (i.e. giving all meds and checking on post-op patients) and sometimes even helping in the kennel.
