NC is a beautiful state to visit, but I wouldn't reccomend living there. And I actually lived in Charlotte, I HATED it.
You may like it there, but I've found a majority of North Carolina residents to be jerks, plain and simple. Don't get me wrong, some people are nice, but that's not what I experienced in most cases.
Oh yeah, and the millions of back country roads that aren't on the map drive me insane.
So yeah, visit it for a while before making a decision.

What a great decision you made. North Carolina is a good state to live in. Most North Carolinians are freindly people. If you want the big city life, go to Charlotte area or Raleigh area. I have not heard one person (except for the guy who posted earlier) that has moved to Charlotte and didn't like it. My sister and a former co-worker of mine moved to Charlotte and they both loves it. Charlotte has plenty of opportunities and things to do in that area. I suggest that you visit the area to get a feel of the city. Like any other town, Charlotte has a bad area also. Raleigh is not as large as Charlotte but it is also a nice area to reside in.

Charlotte is probably the worst major city I've ever been to. The bar scene was practically non-existant and downtown at midnight on saturday looked like a ghost town. I had heard that Charlotte was a great city with a great night life and tons of stuff to do, but it certainly lacked the culture and charm of a northeast city like Boston, New York, or Philly.
I really enjoyed raleigh, though.

North Carolina is the prettiest state on the east coast. Charlotte
is a nice city that offers big city life with a small town charm. I like
the South Park area or University Plaza area near UNC-Charlotte.
By the way, North Carolina is one of the fastest growing states in
the country.

I have a two friends who live in Charlotte and I've been there a couple of times. It's very nice. It's a clean modern city. I would recomend checking it out. Go there for a visit before moving.

Not Whiteville. In fact I would stay completely away from Columbus and Bladen counties.
Hell I wouldnt move to North Carolina.
Edited to add...Like the 2nd poster mentioned It is beautiful there but he is also right about the people! Also right about the roads.
Looking at a map and our answers you can guess that everything from the coast to the center of the state seems to be crappy. Maybe someone can tell you if the rest of the state is like that too!

I stay in NC, and its incredibly dazzling. sundown sea coast, NC is an spectacular sea coast and if u flow slightly methods all the way down to Calabash, flow to Capt. Johns and that they've great crab legs(I had them!) Dont flow to Capt. Nances, their nutrition is terrible now. My relatives owns a sea coast domicile at sundown sea coast, and its dazzling there! I additionally propose going to Chapel Hill, NC. Its domicile of the Tarheels&Duke, they have an exceptionally good restaraunt observed as 501 Diner, and that they've great nutrition(Its the place the Tarheels devour!!) additionally they have Starbucks w/ wifi, and bagel place with wifi, the Carolina Baksetball Museum, and a lot of different places! California has undesirable climate, NC has great climate!! Edit: NC isn't racist& its heat around Spring ruin till ur in the mountains!! And definite, NC is exciting!
