Not till he retires and waits the time out. At that point he might be.

I am a big bernie fan and a larger Yankee fan, but he won't sniff the Hall. His long term stats won't get him far. He is a great player though and an even better team mate. I don't blame him for not taking the yankees minor league contract.

Did you know he is a crazy classical guitar player?

Hes a gentleman, a very good player, a key player on the latest Yankee dynasty, but he doesnt have HOF numbers. He will fall in with the Mattingly, Garveys , Murphys and Buckners (yes Billy bucks had a very good career except for one October nite in 1986)
He has a lot to be proud of but he will get into Copperstown like the rest of us,,,he will have to pay

Maybe if the Yankees have a team hall of fame based on his longevity during a productive period for the Yankees. But not the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Very Good player, but not makin the HOF. If Mattingly didn't make it (who had similar stats to Kirby Puckett), than Bernie won't.

he is hall a fame material. your right they are not great numbers but lets compare to a hall of famer. WADE BOGGS AVG .328 3010 hits 118 hrs 1014 RBIs .443 slugging 425 obp.now BERNIE AVG .297 2336 hits 287 hrs 1257 RBIs .381 obp 477 slugging. Give you one better how bout the IRON MAN of baseball Cal ripken Jr.276 avg 3184 hits 431 hrs 1695 RBIs .447 slugging .340 obp so his numbers are THAT far off but his numbers are better then some of them already in. He is a 5x all star silver slugger award winner cam close to winning the triple crown. and I'm not even guna start with the post season. so yes he belongs. he is a fan favorite and baseball favorite. he is still a gentleman in the game of baseball and never gripes or moans to anyone.

No. He has decent number but he falls into the Don Mattingly category. They have good not great numbers, were fan favorites but not Hall of Fame material.

large participant yet heavily isn't in the HOF and the only reason we've this dialogue is by way of the fact he performed for teh Yanks. If he post those suited comparable numbers in KC, he does not make it previous the 2d poll. i admire Bernie, yet he won't in any respect get in.

This very topic was on Mike and Mike on Espn radio this morning. My answer is No and so was theirs coincidentallly. In his prime he was a good player but not worthy for the Hall.

Since he is still active, he could not be considered. Once he retires from the game as a player, he must be retired at least 5 years to eligable to be voted in by the Baseball Writers.

I think that he is a good candidate once he is eligable
