in case you intend on turning out to be a intense college 'english' instructor, you need to word that this manner of role does no longer exist. A intense college English instructor, on the different hand, will follow a curriculum. the main intense concern that toddlers might desire to study to have staggering futures will never be taught at school. college is in simple terms infant sitting and psychological torture for the staggering ones.

One of my favorite techniques for learning vocabulary in any language is to use "vocabulary cards," words in native language on one side, target language on the other. You can carry them around with you and memorize them when your mind is not otherwise occupied--e.g., riding the subway, standing on line, waiting in the dentist's office.

through reading (lots and lots of reading!)...reading naturally introduces new vocab to students and it's presented in context so students are more likely to remember the defnition and know how to meaningfully use the word. the most ineffective way is a word list with definitions to memorize - it's out of context and not as meaningful for students. it's important for students to connect vocab to words they already know too (file it appropriately in their schema), so doing activities that encourage this are helpful (for example, making a "word web" of the vocab term and its synonyms).
